The highest grossing horror film of all time and its sequel

Horror master Stephen King gave the world an extremely iconic monster with It. The story of a group of children who take on a demon in the form of a clown was last written by Andy Muschietti brought to the cinema with It and ES Chapter 2. Both are now available on Amazon Prime Video.

On Amazon Prime: Horror Remake It became a historic success at the cinema

Children are constantly disappearing in the small town of Derry. A group of teenagers who call themselves the “Losers’ Club” want to get to the bottom of what’s going on. The young people, who are growing up under sometimes shocking conditions, are coming soon track down clown demon Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård).

Mussetti’s version isn’t the first film adaptation of King’s horror story. In 1990, the novel was made into a two-part TV series. However, the new adaptation broke all records when it was released in cinemas. With $700 million in worldwide grossing (via The Numbers) it is the highest-grossing horror film of all time without adjusting for inflation.

The running time of the two-part epic is enormous: Parts 1 and 2 have a total length of 304 minutes. The reason: Stephen King’s template is over 1000 pages long and takes place on two different time levels.

Horror series Welcome to Derry is supposed to tell the story before the Es films

A series is soon to follow the horror success. Welcome to Derry takes place 27 years before the events of the novel. In the early 1960s, evil in the form of Pennywise terrified the small town. The series has no launch date yet, but is expected to stream sometime in 2024.
