The timing could hardly be better: Amazon Prime is increasing its offering and taking you away entirely special DC film in the streaming program: Aquaman. Five years ago, the superhero adventure starring Jason Momoa hit the big screen. The story continues next week.

None other than the evil Orm (Patrick Wilson), Arthur’s half-brother, is after the hidden kingdom in the depths of the ocean. One is unfolding before our eyes bitter power struggle in the images of an action-packed and dramatic underwater blockbuster that takes on Shakespearean dimensions.

The success of Aquaman was anything but certain. The crazy, colorful fantasy action adventure could have been too much for the audience. Ultimately, the film became a surprise success and played over $1.1 billion at the box office – an absolute record for DC.
Jason Momoa returns next week in Aquaman 2, ending the DCEU after 10 years
Part 2 is now arriving in cinemas a little late. At the December 21, 2023 Aquaman: Lost Kingdom conquers the big screen. The sequel was originally scheduled to be released in December last year. Now it is the very last film from the DCEU. Afterwards there will be a complete reboot of the huge universe.
Director James Gunn and producer Peter Safran are currently working behind the scenes on an extensive reboot. A big story should be told across several films, series and video games. The starting shot in the cinema will be in 2025, when David Corenswet in Superman: Legacy becomes a man of steel.
