The ceiling for high-cost protection for medicines will be raised at the turn of the year.
From the first of January, you may pay a maximum of SEK 2,850 for medicines and the goods covered by the benefit. This is an increase of SEK 250, states the E-health authority.
“The pharmacy customer pays the entire cost of his medicines himself up to SEK 1,425. After that, the costs for prescription drugs gradually decrease over a twelve-month period,” writes the authority.
When you reach SEK 2,850, a free card applies for the time remaining in the period. The high-cost protection applies to most prescription drugs.
