Germany beat Spain in the European football championship with goals 2–0. In the top fight of the B group, the hits finished Klara Bühl and Alexandra Popp.
Germany’s victory means that Helmare’s chances of making it to the next round have withered once and for all. Finland lost to Denmark 0–1 in the previous B-group match of the evening.
The most special situation of the match between Germany and Spain was seen in the second half. Germany’s captain Popp had to run through the drive, while Spain’s captain Irene Paredes grabbed him by the shirt.

Spain started the match poorly again when the goalkeeper Sandra Panos kicked the ball towards Bühl, who hit it into the net. Only two minutes and 20 seconds were played. Against Finland, Spain conceded a goal with 48 seconds left.
– The Spanish coaching staff now has to think about where the preparation for the match has gone wrong, because they have conceded a goal in two games (right at the start of the match), expert Kunnas said during the break.
When the 36th minute of the game was over, Germany’s Popp headed the ball into the net from a corner kick.
Spain also had their own chances in the first half, but Lucia Garcia and Marion Caldentey none of them succeeded.
– Spain failed to create chaos in Germany’s defense. They had a few good chances, but they should still be able to create better goal chances, expert Furuholm said during the break of the match.
In the second half, Germany was forced into defensive positions while Spain searched for the much-needed goals.
The closest to scoring was Spain’s Caldentey, but the goalkeeper Merle Frohms stretched out for a spectacular save. A great save crowned Germany’s disciplined defensive game. Germany has now played two matches without conceding a goal.
