September has been record hot. After a cooler period, the heat returns during the week and the warmer autumn garments can remain in the wardrobe for a few more days.
– On Thursday it can be over 20 degrees all the way up in Norrbotten, which is unusual for the time of year, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
Tropical nights and record high temperatures, the beginning of September was unusually warm – now it’s getting warm again, albeit somewhat more modestly. The temperature is expected to be around 20 degrees over large parts of the country, up to and including Friday.
– We have high pressure that is strengthening over Scandinavia. There will be a lot of sun, but not only that, in some places the clouds can be dense at times and in the mountains there will be rain showers and it will be windy – but in large parts of the country it will be warmer than what is normal for the time of year, says TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson.
Thursday looks set to be the warmest of the week’s days, when the Norrland coast will also experience temperatures above the 20-degree mark.
– The warm air flows north over the country. The temperature can in many places rise to 22 degrees, locally perhaps a degree warmer and over 20 degrees is expected all the way up along the northern Norrland coast.
Colder again on Friday
During the high pressure period, the nights will continue to be cold and mist and fog will form in many places. As early as the weekend, the weather looks set to turn in large parts of the country. Initially in the north.
– On Friday, slightly colder air will enter the north, and there may be patches of snow in the mountains. But then it’s still 20 degrees in the south. Over the weekend, the cooler air looks set to move south across the country.
