The heat is coming back, but watch out for storms and rain from Wednesday in these regions

The heat is coming back but watch out for storms

Summer conditions are gradually returning at the beginning of the week. However, thunderstorms are expected in some departments.

Temperatures are rising this week. Indeed, a large part of the country will benefit from the wind direction towards the east, and see the mercury rise. While the Hauts-de-France and the Massif Central should wake up to grey skies this Tuesday, and observe rather gloomy weather continuing during the day, sunny spells will dominate the rest of France.

According to The Weather Channel“temperatures will be rising, but still slightly lower than normal” this Tuesday. However, some storms are likely to break out in PACA and Corsica.

Wednesday will see the return of sunshine to the northern part of the country and a general warming up. The sun will shine after the few clouds have cleared in the morning. On the other hand, the forecast is not as mild for the southern part. “Near the Mediterranean, thunderstorms are expected, particularly between Corsica and Roussillon,” according to La Chaîne météo.

Temperatures will generally be seasonal in the afternoon, from 17 to 25 degrees. In general, temperatures will rise this Wednesday, especially because the polar air will evacuate towards Scandinavia. No risk of frost is announced, before observing a passage above seasonal norms from Thursday.

From Thursday, the sun will return to a large part of the country. Friday will also be a beautiful day, only certain areas such as the Alps and Corsica may be subject to a few storms. It is only from Friday evening that the situation risks getting worse. “A stormy deterioration will be organized across the entire western fringe of France, announcing a much more disturbed weekend” than the beginning of the week which will see the sun show its face and temperatures rise. We must therefore expect a gradual return of summer conditions between Tuesday 17 and Thursday 19 September 2024.
