The healthcare association gives the go-ahead to cancer patients – must get their X-ray

X-ray nurse Petter Ljung strongly believes in the overtime blockade.

– In 2023, there were three million overtime hours in the country, he says. It shows that there has to be a change. We have to keep working.

Conflict between the Healthcare Association and the employers

  • The healthcare union withdraws “dangerous to society” conflict measures in Linköping

  • 150 patients are moved from Sus ahead of the healthcare strike in Region Skåne

  • Dispensation for the X-ray department

Despite the overtime blockade, the Swedish Medical Association gives the X-ray department at Östersund Hospital a dispensation.

    – We make sure that the right patient group receives care despite the blockade, says Petter Ljung.

    The conflict expands

The overtime blockade has been going on since April 25, and the Healthcare Confederation has also announced a strike in several regions. A total of 3,900 members can be taken out on strike on June 11. Region Jämtland Härjedalen is not selected.

    Employers: Dangerous for patients

The other party in the conflict, Sweden’s municipalities and regions, has sent a sharp warning to the Health Confederation. SKR believes that patient safety is at risk.

    – The healthcare union has carefully selected who can be taken out on strike, says Petter Ljung.
