On Thursday, Israel struck the international airport in Yemen’s capital, Sana’a. In addition, Israel carried out airstrikes on military targets, energy plants and a nearby air base.
At the time of the attacks, the head of the UN World Health Organization WHO was at Sanaa airport Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He told message service X that he survived the attacks, but one of the crew members of his plane was wounded. He also said that one of the strikes hit the departure hall of the airport, which was only a few meters away from his party.
The other UN representatives on the field survived the attack unharmed, but their departure was delayed due to field repairs.
