The head of Israeli military intelligence, General Aharon Haliva, has resigned due to his “command responsibility” in the unprecedented attack carried out on October 7 by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Israel, the Israeli army announced .
General Haliva “in coordination with the Chief of Staff requested that his functions be terminated,” the army said in a statement. “It has been decided that General Haliva will step down and retire from the army, once his successor is appointed.”
