Jasmin Kähärä had to take part in Sweden’s tactical game in the skiing World Cup after some strange falls. The explanation was perhaps just a coincidence and the skiers’ own faults.
At the Skiing World Cup in Goms, Switzerland, we saw some special falls. Germany’s Jan Stolben and Switzerland Janik Riebli fell right after the start in the same place and on the same course. The reason is still a mystery. The organizers went to check the situation after the falls.
Riebli was puzzled by the fall.
– It was a bit strange. However, I don’t think it was anyone else’s fault but mine, Riebli told Expressen.
Expressen told also about the Swedish skiers’ hard decision in the semi-final. The Swedish women avoided the third race in the semifinals. That’s why the Finnish promise Jasmin Kähärä fell into the fate of Riebl and Stölben.
According to Expressen, the decision made Jasmin Kähärä worried.
– I saw that all the Swedes took other tracks. I started to ask if there was something wrong with the third lane, Kähärä described to Expressen.
– But everything went well for me. I think the organizers did something. I don’t know what the problem was.
Johanna Hagström had originally thought of starting from the third track. However, he heard about the problems. Swedes were asked to avoid the third track.
Hagström didn’t know if there was really something wrong with the track.
– I believe that the organizers only put a little snow in it. However, no risks are taken when there were so many crashes. Maybe there was nothing wrong with that after all. They could have been a coincidence, Hagström reflected.
No fewer than five Swedes and Switzerland competed in the sprint final Nadine Fähndrich. Linn Svahn took an overwhelming victory. Jasmin Kähärä was the best of the Finnish women. He was tenth in the final results.
