Rifalk became the match winner with a phantom save in regular time and two saved penalties against Växjö.
– A victory builds energy and something to hold on to for the future, says a satisfied Roger Hansson to TV4 Play after the match.
Rögle had a 3-2 lead before the final period but Växjö came close to equalizing after five minutes but Christoffer Rifalk made a phenomenal save on Tobias Rieder’s shot from an open position.
– Just trying to get something out and succeed with the pick, says Rifalk about the incredible save in the 3rd period.
A monster rescue?
– Yes, you can say that, admits Rifalk to TV4 Play.
But Rifalk had to see the puck go in ten minutes later when Rögle was careless in the center zone and Dylan Mclaughlin twisted the puck for himself and came alone with Rifalk in the Rögle goal. Mclaughlin made it 3-3.
– Great to go on Christmas leave with a win. It’s small details all over the court that do it, says Rögle goalkeeper Rifalk.
Rögle’s last point came at home against Frölunda at the end of November.
