The hanger technique to be safer in your hotel room – it also works with a towel

The hanger technique to be safer in your hotel room

To prevent any intrusion into hotel rooms, this flight attendant reveals her tips that will allow you to sleep soundly.

When we travel solo, with friends or family, we are not always reassured by sleeping in a room other than our own. While some are more comfortable than others, we all remember to pay special attention to our belongings. Moreover, it is not for nothing that safes are offered to customers. The most stressed will sometimes think of the horror films they have seen, where the victim is often killed in their little motel lost in the middle of the countryside. Fortunately, we are not there yet. That said, we sometimes think about closing our bedroom door properly, but this tip, revealed by Bobbie Smith, a flight attendant, will allow you to sleep soundly. His technique consists of closing the door to your room using two hangers, or a towel!

How to close your hotel room door?

The flight attendant advises you to take two hangers that you will inevitably find in the closets of your room. Place the head of the first hanger inside the locket closure. Slide the second hanger past the door handle inside the hanger bar, then hook the head of that hanger with the first hanging higher. You can block it more easily using the clip which is generally used to hang pants. This way, it will be difficult for anyone to get in since the hangers will actually block the door.

In her video, Bobbie Smith shares another little tip which also allows you to close your front door, this time, using a simple towel. All you have to do is slide one end of your towel inside the locket, all the way to the middle of the towel. Try to open the door: you won’t be able to (unless you remove the towel). These two tips allow you to sleep more peacefully, especially since hotel rooms can easily be opened with simple electronic badges.
