The gym murder in Stockholm: All suspects are released

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The detention for all four accused of involvement in the high-profile shooting death at the Delta gym in Stockholm is lifted pending judgment. A 17-year-old boy is accused of carrying out the murder. He has now been placed in a Sis home, according to the prosecutor. The murder took place on March 28 last year. The father of three, Fredrik Andersson, was shot in the head. He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he later died. However, according to the police, the target was a man in his 40s with connections to a criminal motorbike gang. The man who was shot dead tried to intervene and stop the shooter. Prosecutor Daniel Suneson had requested that the 17-year-old be sentenced to eight years in prison, despite the fact that he was 16 at the time of the murder. The boy is also charged with attempted murder, aggravated weapons offense and public destruction. – Even though he is so young, he should be sentenced to prison. It is such a high penalty value that closed youth care cannot be considered to be sufficiently interventionist as a punishment, Suneson said during the closing arguments earlier this week. The verdict will be announced on March 10. Watch the dramatic surveillance footage in the player above.
