The growing success of animal bronzes LExpress

Last February, in Drouot, the twenty animal bronzes presented by the new study house quickly found takers. Made by sculptors known to amateurs, some have even recorded very good results. A Lama d’Armand Petersen (1891-1969) sold 49,588 euros on the basis of an expertise of 12,000 euros while a Humant panther by Georges Lucien Guyot (1885-1973) reached 23,164 euros, double the high estimate, and that a Cockatoo Edouard Marcel Sandoz (1881-1971) flew to 33,488 euros, to the triple of the expert price.

These successful auctions are commonplace as animal sculpture is successful and attracts an increasing number of collectors. Consequently, certain parts of large sculptors such as Rembrandt Bugatti (1884-1916) or François Pompon (1855-1933) easily exceed 100,000 euros. Fortunately, everything is not so expensive. To make good deals, you must turn to still confidential artists, such as Irenaea Rochard (1906-1984).

Lovely bronzes of this Art Nouveau style sculptor sold for less than 1,000 euros, such as this Turned head about ten centimeters. The small pieces also allow you to offer famous names without breaking the bank. A Rabbit, an erect ear 6.3 centimeters, from Sandoz, an emblematic work of the artist, changed hands for 2,318 euros, while a Duck of pompom of about twenty centimeters reached 7,470 euros. Do not be long because prices keep climbing.
