The Tidö parties have tasked KI with calculating the cost of immigration.
Something the Green Party’s Annika Hirvonen is critical of.
– If it turns out that Afghan women cost a lot, should they send them back to Taliban Afghanistan?, she says.
The government and the Sweden Democrats want to calculate what economic effects immigration to Sweden has had in modern times.
This has been negotiated in recent weeks in an updated Tidö agreement. Representatives from all Tidö parties have been seen, among other things, at the prime minister’s residence in Harpsund, and the task is to be carried out by the Economic Institute (KI).
– It’s something we’ve been pursuing ever since we entered the Riksdag, in our first budget, and out in municipalities – this with multicultural accounts, says the Sweden Democrats’ party secretary Mattias Bäckström Johansson to TT.
Sharp criticism
Annika Hirvonen (MP), Member of Parliament and spokesperson for migration policy, is strongly critical of the mission.
– The question is what signals the Tidö parties want to send and what they intend to do with the information. The risk is that they use the results as part of continuing to drive polarization and paint entire ethnic groups as problems. If it turns out that Afghan women cost a lot, should they send them back to the Taliban’s Afghanistan?, she tells TV4 Nyheterna.
