The verdict states that the ship from the Greek Coast Guard contributed to a boat with 27 migrants on board capsizing off the island of Farmakonisi in January 2014. According to survivors, this happened when the Coast Guard at high speed tried to force them back into Turkish waters.
The court also considers that the Coast Guard did not do enough to save the migrants.
The Greek Coast Guard claims that the panic that arose on the boat caused the accident.
