“This is really painful to see,” writes Tagreed Abdin, the building’s architect, on X.
The tower is one of Khartoum’s most famous landmarks. How the fire started is still unclear.
Since unrest in Sudan broke out in April, fighting has continued. So far, over a million people have been forced to flee the country, according to the UN.
