The Gray Man: is a sequel planned?

The Gray Man is a sequel planned

THE GRAY MAN NETFLIX. The action movie The Gray Man was released on Netflix on July 22, 2022. Can we hope to find the character of Ryan Gosling in a sequel? The directors say more in a press conference.

[Mis à jour le 23 juillet 2022 à 10h00] The Gray Man was one of the most anticipated films of the year on Netflix. The reason ? Its five-star cast (Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page…) and its promise (a action movie with an insane budget -200 million dollars- signed Joe and Anthony Russo, to whom we owe in particular Avengers Infinity War and Endgame). The feature film should easily rise to the top of the most viewed programs on the platform of the moment.

But will a sequel to The Gray Man see the light of day? Anthony and Joe Russo aren’t closing the door on an upcoming movie starring Ryan Gosling and the rest of the gang. “What motivated us to bring together such a cast […] it was, in part, to create a kind of universe in which we could follow them, in order to find out what happened to them in the past or what has in store for them in the future, detailed Anthony Russo in a press conference before the release of the action movie on Netflix. So yes, we hope in any case, that there will still be new stories to tell in the world of The Gray Man”. For the time being, nothing has been officially ordered. The success or not of the feature film Netflix will seal its fate.

How was the scene in Prague shot?

In a press conference before the release of The Gray Man, the Russo brothers returned to the particular shooting of this passage of the film. “We asked a large part of the city for this scene, explains Anthony Russo. To shoot this scene, we used real trams in Prague. We built a bus, which was decorated like a tram capable of driving, so that ‘it could go faster than a regular tram, or so that we could turn on streets that had no tracks, etc. We also had a tram, surrounded by blue backgrounds, which was parked in a parking lot in Prague that you could move around in. So we built this whole sequence around several filming locations. On top of that, we were shooting with the main cast but also stuntmen for the sequences that were too dangerous… It was a very complex process.”

Although they may be used to it with their previous films, such as Avengers Endgame, the Russo brothers wanted to shoot directly in Prague for this sequence of The Gray Man. “It would have been complicated and it would have required a lot of special effects, comments Joe Russo. It’s a sequence that requires a lot of contact”. For their part, the actors underwent special training to prepare for the many muscular scenes, and received several tips from a former member of the Delta Force. So many assets in hand to ensure that The Gray Man becomes one of the successes streaming of summer.
