The state and the private sector need to cooperate in order to work together for innovations in the field of defence. That is why the government is now launching an initiative for defense innovation, writes Defense Minister Pål Jonsson (M) on Di debatt.
On Monday, the Minister of Defense will meet with authorities and companies active in the field “for a strategic dialogue on how we work in the best possible way with the defense innovation system”. This will be followed by further meetings with other relevant actors, where the goal is that the whole thing “should lead to a number of concrete measures for both industry and the state”.
The Minister of Defense writes that together they must “identify which prerequisites and tools need to be developed to further strengthen the defense industry in Sweden by increasing innovation capacity – and in the long term ensure a world-leading role in defense innovation”.
