Sweden is heading for tougher economic times and then it is not the time for increased taxes, says Finance Minister Mikael Damberg (S) to TV4 and therefore proposes that the inflation-driven increase in the fuel tax should be stopped temporarily.

– It is not reasonable with the high petrol and diesel prices that we would then automatically get a tax increase at the turn of the year, I don’t think that is the right policy at this stage, says Damberg to the channel.

The government has previously proposed that the reduction obligation for petrol and diesel be paused for 2023.
