This means that all doors can be kept open until when, in a few years, Sweden has to make a decision about which future combat aircraft the defense will have.

The Minister of Defense tells TT that there are three options for Sweden’s future combat aircraft: that Sweden continues to develop its own combat aircraft, that Sweden develops combat aircraft with other countries or that it buys ready-made combat aircraft on the international market.

With the expanded ordering authorization, there are funds to maintain Sweden’s competence in the area, for example by investing in developing various technical systems on a trial basis.
