As of July last year, families with children with housing allowance have received a temporary supplementary allowance. The grant was extended in December last year and is valid until 30 June 2023. Now the government and the Sweden Democrats announce that they want to extend the additional grant further, until 31 December.

In addition, the grant will be increased – from 25 percent to 40 percent of the pre-minimary housing grant.
– If you calculate it in kroner and ören, it means that the maximum you can go from today’s extra supplement of 1,325 kroner per month to being able to amount to 2,100 kroner per month, says Ebba Busch.
The additional allowance is added to the amount you usually receive in housing allowance each month and is paid out automatically to those who have housing allowance.
The increase and extension of the subsidy is estimated to cost SEK 720 million.
