The government proposes a new job tax deduction in the autumn budget, says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at a press conference.
According to the government, this would mean that a family consisting of a nurse and a police officer would have their taxes reduced by SEK 14,000 per year.
The government and the cooperation party Sweden Democrats agree on a new job tax deduction, which will be larger than the one remitted last spring.
The estimate then was that the deduction would cost SEK 8 billion. The new analysis is that the deduction would cost SEK 11 billion.
Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) justifies the proposal, among other things, by saying that it will become more motivating to work.
She also points to the tough economic situation with high inflation.
– Ordinary people have seen their purchasing power eroded.
According to the government’s analysis, the deduction means that a family consisting of a nurse and a police officer will receive reduced taxes by SEK 14,000 a year.
The employment tax credit is financed by the government pausing the calculation of the cut-off point for state income tax next year, which frees up 12 billion.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson describes several priorities in the autumn budget proposal.
– We want to fight inflation, support households and welfare in expensive times, focus on the judiciary, defense and restore the line of work.
