The government is discontinuing investment support for housing construction. From January 1, no more applications will be granted, according to a press release from the Ministry of Infrastructure.
The support was introduced by the social democratic government and means that investment support is given for new construction, extension or conversion to rental properties in apartment buildings or single-family houses.
The Riksdag already decided in 2021 that the support should be phased out, and the government is now completing the phase-out by pushing money to all applications granted support before January 1, 2023.
After that, no new applications will be granted.
