It Takes Two now has over 7 million copies sold worldwide. This is indeed what Hazelight Studios reveals in a tweet, which reminds us that last February, the game had already crossed the 5 million mark. A dynamic that does not seem to weaken therefore, the title of GOTY 2021 awarded at the Game Awards having certainly allowed Josef Fares’ game to benefit from a popularity that not many people expected, even if the critics were more than excellent. Moreover, more than a year after its release (March 26, 2021), It Takes Two has a Metacritic average of almost 89.

For the record, at the beginning of the year, we learned that a film adaptation was in the works at dj2 Entertainment under the aegis of Amazon Studios. The screenplay will be written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller (who are behind the script for the two Sonics), while Dwayne Johnson should be retained in the cast of the film.
