No suspect has been arrested after rap artist C Gambino was shot to death in Gothenburg. According to information given to TV4 Nyheterna, the police fear that the situation may now escalate and have therefore called in extra resources.

– We are on site with a larger resource than we usually do, the public will certainly notice that as well, says August Brandt, press spokesperson at the police, to the channel.

The police were alerted at 10.30pm on Tuesday about gunfire in a parking garage in Hisings Backa. A 25-year-old man with a serious gunshot wound was found at the scene, who later died in hospital.

The police believe they have a clear picture of how the murder took place.

– The shooter or shooters have been waiting for him. He lives here in the area and when he comes to park his car, he is shot with at least two shots, says police spokesperson Thomas Fuxborg to TT.

According to the Gothenburg police, there is a network connection and the victim, the well-known and recently Grammy-awarded artist C Gambino, was connected to organized crime.

– I don’t want to go into which network, but he is known in a network context, says Thomas Fuxborg.

According to TV4 Nyheterna, the police fear that C Gambino’s death could lead to the conflict at Hisingen flaring up and have therefore increased the police presence in the area by bringing in resources from other parts of the police region West.
