The gondola stopped on the roof of the Globe – eleven people were stranded

– The gondola stopped for safety reasons and we have now started an evacuation of the people, says Daniel Stålbo, marketing director at Stockholm Live, which runs the gondola tours, at 5:30 p.m.

The Globe, now called the Avicii Arena, has two parallel spherical glass gondolas that can travel up and down the side of the arena, and is used as a viewing attraction. The evening paper was the first to report the incident.

– Personnel have gone up in the second gondola and exhibited once between them. The people are currently being led across between the gondolas, says Daniel Stålbo to TT.

– It is very sad that this is happening. And among other things, an eleven-year-old boy experienced the situation as urgent, so they try to take it easy and carefully during the evacuation.

The power outage that caused the stop was fixed at 4:30 p.m.
