The golf course was built at the end of the 80s and started in Finland, but due to lack of space, they chose to continue building on the Swedish side of the border.
Eleven holes are in Sweden, seven in Finland, and the players cross the border four times.
One hour before the ball is in the cup
The location has created a unique golf experience that attracts players from all over the Nordics – and the course’s sixth hole is extra special.
– Here you have the opportunity to make the world’s longest hole in one when the ball is in the air, with the time zone calculated, approximately one hour and five seconds, says Kimmo Pitkänen, chairman of Haparanda golf club.
