The God of LoL is hurt and his team is losing – when everything goes down the drain, he returns

In League of Legends, 27-year-old South Korean Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is considered the greatest player of all time. He is nicknamed “The Indestructible Demon King”, many simply see him as a god in LoL: But even the Demon King is sometimes injured. And without him, his Uber team T1 looks really bad.

What was that injury?

Without Faker, T1 loses 7 out of 8 games

How did it go without fakers? Terrible. Although T1 was filled with world-class players in every position and the coach had deliberately avoided fakers in 2020, nothing went together now. With the new midlaner, T1 lost a tour, winning only one game out of 8.

T1 looked completely out of character, dropping from 6-2 to 7-9. They were certainly in the playoffs, but T1 had now slipped to an unloved 5th place and seemed completely off track.

That was the turning point: T1 surprisingly announced this morning that Faker is back in the lineup. His backup player Poby will return to the Academy team.

It was said it was Fakers decision to return to the team.

Faker then played his first match in a month on the bench against bottom-placed Kwangdong Freecs. He had two rather quiet games in the midlane with 0-3-5 and 2-0-8 on Jaye, but his team immediately seemed to be back in great form.

In particular, the botlane from Keria and Gumayusi, the showpiece of T1, played outstandingly and didn’t lose a single death in either game.

As Dotesports writes, T1 looked completely different, appeared mercilessly in the early game, and took apart the opponents without hesitation. That’s how the team worked before Faker’s injury.

A player on Reddit compares the feeling players of T1 must have when playing with Faker with his experience of having a really good player with him in LoL:

I feel like I’m playing so much better because I don’t have to focus on the map. I just follow his pings and play around him, can focus on my skillshots because I can focus most of my attention on micromanagement.

Apparently the “leader function” played by Faker is essential for this version of T1.

Fans worry about their idol

How is this discussed? Fans on Reddit are concerned that Faker’s poor performance in his absence has now forced him to abandon the recovery phase and come back “too soon”.

Many fans have been seriously worried about Faker. Such a “problem with the arm”, which he described, ended the career of ADC legend Uzi far too early in 2019.

LoL: Uzi (22) is considered the best ADC in the world, has broken “arms like a 50-year-old”
