Infjärdens SK outside Piteå plays in the men’s division III and the away match against Sunnanå was played on April 26.
In connection with a stoppage of play due to snow shoveling, the home keeper took the opportunity to deviate from the pitch to go to the toilet, something which Piteå-Tidningen reported on first.
On the toilet when the net rattled
When the match was restarted, the goalkeeper was still on the mug and the guests’ Linus Olsson took the opportunity to equalize in an empty cage.
But instead of 4-4, the referee ruled out the equaliser. Infjärden has appealed the decision to the Västerbotten Football Association (VFF), which will make a decision on the matter on Wednesday, May 8.
Hope the protest is heard
Björn Lidström is the team manager in Infjärden and he thinks it is horrible that the goal was ruled out.
– If it is to be right, the protest must go through. But I am pessimistic as I have never witnessed a result being changed afterwards.
See the nice “shit goal”
He still hopes that the film evidence, and that the referee was remorseful after the final whistle, will be enough for compensation.
– But I feel most sorry for the goalkeeper. It was Sunnanå who started the game and neither players nor leaders seemed to miss him, says Björn Lidström.
“We have moved on”
Sunnanås team manager Anneli Sundqvist says that the goalkeeper declines to comment on the incident.
Do you as a club have any comments about the whole thing?
– No, the match is finished and we have moved on to new matches, says Anneli Sundqvist.
