Forsmark 1 is expected to start supplying electricity again from Thursday morning after being down throughout Wednesday.
The reason for the stop was a power outage due to maintenance work at a power station in the main grid north of Stockholm. The work went wrong and caused a short circuit that had major consequences for the power supply in the Stockholm region.
The power outage affected the entire Stockholm traffic and the two reactors Forsmark 1 and 2, which were forced to stop production.
Forsmark 2 is planned to be in production again from Friday evening, as checks and analysis work are still required to ensure the process conditions announce waterfall.
Electricity production at Forsmark 3 operated at full capacity throughout the shutdown. But the electricity that could not be supplied from the two other reactors had to be replaced by other electricity, which affected the price.
The daily prices for electricity on the Nordic electricity exchange are set one day in advance, and Thursday’s prices will be roughly double in the whole of Sweden compared to Wednesday. From a price of 64 öre per kilowatt hour to between 112 and 127 öre in northern and southern Sweden respectively.
