In the report “Vapes against sex” Investigates Task review what happened in the areas around Sundsvall, where an alarm went out a couple of years ago – about men who exposed girls to abuse in connection with the purchase of vapes.
Field assistants saw how vapes became popular among young people. In stores, the age limit is 18 – but they are used openly by young people in their early teens, says field assistant Farhang “Farre” Nijad.
– The consequences we see are, above all, that languor increases. You have to turn to more adults to get this bought out.
The youngest 12 years
Mission review has taken part in stories from about 20 girls in the Sundsvall region who testify that men enticed with vapes for sex. It can start with hugs and then turn into outright rape.
A girl tells how she was offered ten vapes for a blowjob.
In several cases, the girls were under 15 when the abuse took place. The youngest 12 years.
Contact via Snapchat
Last year, “Dennis”, a man in his 30s, was convicted of, among other things, rape of children and sexual exploitation. All plaintiffs were 15 years of age or younger. The lure was vapes in exchange for sex.
As in many of the cases, the contact started via Snapchat – and the abuse often took place in his car. “Ida” tells how the man wanted her and her friend to wear soft clothes so that he could put them on more easily.
– You kind of didn’t dare to speak up. People became scared and dumb.
“Ida” was one of several plaintiffs during the trial. The man was convicted against his denial and was imprisoned for five and a half years.
Fielder: Rock quiet
The investigation shows that there is at least one more man who appears to have assaulted girls when they wanted to buy vapes.
– I hadn’t been close to any guy. So I had never kissed anyone either. I feel so disgusting, says “Rebecka”, who was 12 years old when she was allegedly exposed by the other man.
Shortly before publication, Task Review receives information that the police have initiated several cases concerning the man, two of which concern younger girls.
A prosecutor is involved and the investigation is ongoing.
Field assistant Farhang “Farre” Nijad submitted a document to the police about the man over six months ago.
He believes that the young people have lost faith in adults.
– As soon as we try to pick up a clue in a youth group – “You are talking about one of your friends who has sold sex to get vapes” – then it becomes dead quiet.
