The giant talent Axel Sandin-Pellikka is awarded Börje Salming’s honorary prize: “Börje would have liked it”

For the second year in a row, a Skellefteå player will be awarded the honorary Salming Trophy.
Last year it was Jonathan Pudas who received it, and this year 19-year-old Axel Sandin-Pellikka is awarded the prize.

Börje Salmings honorary award is awarded to the main season’s best Swedish-born defender in either the SHL or the SDHL’s main series, and has been awarded since the 2008/09 season. After the hockey legend’s passing in November 2022, the prize has been awarded in his memory.
– I am convinced that Börje appreciates the choice of Axel, says the brother Stig Salming in a press release, which, together with the Ice Hockey Journalists’ Comrades Association, awards the award.
