William Poromaa is in the World Cup squad after his crash in Gällivare. However, the 17-year-old ski talent Alvar Myhlback is not allowed to make his VC debut in Ruka.
On Monday morning, the Swedish national ski team presented its squad for the World Cup premiere in Ruka, sprints on Friday and distance races on Saturday. There were no direct surprises.
Myhlback is nobbed
To Alvar Myhlback must continue to wait to make his debut in the World Cup was not particularly unexpected after two eighth places in the weekend’s two races in the Swedish premiere in Gällivare.
– Alvar’s result was not that extra that had been required. Two eighth places for a 17-year-old is great, but not enough for the World Cup, says the national team manager Anders Byström according to Expressen.

– He is bruised, but every day it has gotten better, says the national team coach Stefan Thomson.
Big winner with
On the women’s side, as usual, Sweden fields a more well-known group. All the best riders – like Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson and Jonna Sundling – included.
As Moa Ilarthe sensational winner who put the said trio in place when she won Sunday’s race just ahead of Karlsson.
“The premiere in Gällivare shows that our most established ones are well underway and that we should be able to field a strong team in Finland,” says Anders Byström in a press release.
“It will be a lot of fun to start a whole World Cup season and see how we stack up against other nations.”
