The giant mockery of Stina Nilsson after the new flop – and the words on social media: “Didn’t age well…”

Stina Nilsson doesn’t want that.
Now the Swedish star is mocked on social media – after the biathlon association’s own words about her.
“This did not age well,” writes one.

Expectations were high for Stina Nilsson ahead of this season, but so far there has been no immediate success. Rather the opposite, as Nilsson was constantly pushed from the World Cup, and instead had to focus solely on competitions in the IBU Cup.

New flop

Before Christmas, the form seemed to have turned for Nilsson, who lined up fine results. But in 2024 she has once again been a disappointment, and in yesterday’s sprint came the next huge flop for the star. Sprint is otherwise the competition that suits Nilsson best, as it is the least number of shootings. But she would rather just forget about Thursday’s competition.

Nilsson was already half a minute behind the lead after the first lap, and it didn’t get any better when she went away from the first shooting with two booms. During the second lap, further time was lost, both in the skating, but above all after a whole four hurdles in the standing shooting. Stina Nilsson was a full four (!) minutes after the victory, when she entered in 60th place.

Mocked on social media

Before the competition, there were hopes for top results, and also from the International Biathlon Union. Before the start of the competition, they themselves posted a video of Nilsson setting off, where they wrote:

“Stina Nilsson will set one of the fastest ride times – but how will it go for her in the shooting range?”. And of course it didn’t age very well…

In addition to the six barriers that Nilsson had, she had a lead-heavy day out in the tracks. In pure riding time, Nilsson was over two(!) minutes slower than Ragnhild Femsteinevik, and on social media Nilsson, and the biathlon association, are mocked for the post on social media.

“She ended up with the 43rd best ride time…”, writes one.

“Thank you for it…”, writes another.

“This did not age well,” writes a third.
