The German court ordered the shooting sports federation to pay

Alexander Ratner, chairman of the European Shooting Association, sued the Finnish Shooting Association.

The German Court has ordered the Finnish and Italian shooting sports federations to pay damages to the chairman of the European Shooting Association (ESC) Alexander RatnerThe Sports Sports Association (SAL) announced. The Shooting Sports Association does not intend to complain about the decision.

A year ago, Ratner challenged SAL’s court after SAL had submitted the request to increase the ESC General Assembly agenda in October 2023.

By decision of the Board of Directors, the vote of confidence was not included in the agenda of the meeting.

In addition to the Finnish Shooting Sports Association, Ratner challenged the President of the International Shooting Sport Luciano Rossin and the Italian Shooting Association.

Ratner applied for damages of EUR 100,000, but the court ordered the respondents to pay damages of EUR 30,000 and the costs.

The court’s decision calls for respondents to correct the claim that Ratner would have made it difficult to transfer the daily activities of ISSF to the new chairman. According to the decision, Ratner also did not violate his loyalty to the ISSF when presenting candidates on the ESC website in November 2022. The third claim is that in 2023 Ratner organized the European Games in Wroclaw in the right form of competition.

According to an assessment requested by SAL’s German law firm, the complaint would have a weak position to produce results.
