The young writer Edouard Jousselin publishes a second daring novel with Rivages Editions entitled “ The geometry of possibilities “. A masterful fresco which retraces the last 30 years of a Western world in dire straits through the destinies of characters that nothing predisposed to cross paths with.
It is a colorful fresco, contemporary style, which tells us about the Western world of the last 30 years: that of terrorism and mass killings, computer piracy and the dark web, the precariousness of immigrant workers and uberization of the society.
A novel with drawers that mixes the events of History with a capital H and the little stories of everyday life. The lifelong loves and passions, friendships and betrayals, lies and family secrets too. Over several pages or at the turn of a paragraph, this story talks about disability, homophobia, social inequalities, as well as good wines, Hollywood blockbusters, reality TV or football fans.
It is nothing less than a world-work that the storyteller pen of Edouard Jousselin takes us into. His second novel is over 600 pages but you can read it in one go. “ The geometry of possibilities » was published as the first by Rivages.
