the gameplay is out, it’s Mark of the Wolv

Almost two years since SNK announced the return of Fatal Fury to the forefront, creating a wave of hysteria among forty-year-olds who swore only by the NeoGeo in the 90s and 2000s. It must be said that during this period blessed by the Gods, the Rolls Royce of consoles crushed everything that existed on the market, with its performance identical to what was found in arcades, the Holy Grail of the time. Information about the game was released sparingly from SNK, which also plays the mystery and nostalgia card. After confirming the presence of the core trio, namely Terry Bogard, his younger brother Andy and of course Joe Higashi, we were able to see snippets of the gameplay via images which also revealed the presence of Rock Howard. And when we knew that Terry was coming back with his Garou outfit, everything seemed to be moving towards a replay of the Mark of the Wolves episode, considered the best 2D fighting game of all time.

SNK put an end to the mystery last night, as the publisher published two videos on its YouTube channel. The first is a new trailer which announces that the game release is scheduled for the beginning of 2025 on PC and consoles. We also see the names of the game mechanics that are announced: REVVING UP, REV GUARD, REV BLOW, REV ARTS and REV ACCEL. Which presages a certain technicality which is close to the gameplay proposed by Garou Mark of the Wolves in 1999. In any case, you only need to take a look at the second video, the one which reveals the gameplay and the characters to understand that SNK has only one goal: regain its crown by updating the Mark of the Wolves game system. While waiting for more details on this subject, we can see Rock Howard, Terry Bogard, Hotaru Futaba, Tizoc and Preecha in full action, knowing that for Preecha, this is her debut in the series, she who seems to be the disciple by Joe Higashi, as it shares the same move set and the same martial art: Thai boxing. Otherwise, we will finally see that Rock Howard has finally acquired the necessary skill to release Terry’s Power Geyser. And that’s stupid.
