Like that, without warning, Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga made its return during the Game Developers Conference 2023 (GDC 2023) which is currently being held in San Francisco. Among the actors who want to make noise, there is Epic Games which has unveiled a new video of Hellblade 2, in collaboration with its creator studio Ninja Theory. The idea is indeed to highlight the technological feats that are possible to do with the Unreal Engine 5, and the least we can say is that it is impressively realistic. We see the actress Melina Juergens brings the twisted character of Senua to life, with a set-up unveiled before the start of the acting and once the sequence is over, in her performance capture costume. The video only lasts barely 1 minute, but it’s more than enough to see the graphics performance offered by the 3D engine of Epic Games. Of course, it’s only a demo with nothing around it and we imagine that the rendering will be less flattering in-game, but we can at least see that the tools made available to creators are more and more breathtaking. Now we can’t wait to see some gameplay and know a release date, it’s already been 4 years since the game was announced and we still haven’t seen anything concrete.
