As one of the studios most affected by the war in Ukraine, GSC Game World has just made a decision of the utmost importance, that of changing the name of its game. Until now, the game was called STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, but from now on, it will have to be written differently. Indeed, since a few days, “Chernobyl” is written “Chornobyl”, thus referring to the pronunciation of the city in Ukrainian language. It is a strong way to oppose the conflict, recalling what had happened for the capital kyiv, which must now be pronounced Kyiv. The news was first spread by journalist Pavel Dobrovsky, before becoming official through the change of logo, visible on the game’s official website. According to the latest news, the developers have moved to the Czech Republic in order to calmly complete the development of STALKER 2, still expected for the end of 2022 on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
