The sequel to this franchise has been developed by our in-house studio Hexworks since 2019. The project was run out of Barcelona in Spain, with additional development talent based in Romania, the UK and France. Our in-house development studio has over 60 members, and the team works closely with other third-party developers who are handling multiple elements in the development of the game, which has now reached an advanced stage in production. We plan to launch the game’s marketing campaign in the third quarter of 2022. Lords of the Fallen 2 is expected to be released in 2023 at full price for the new generation of consoles and PC.
Where it gets interesting is that the CI Games report also gives some details on the Unreal Engine 5, Epic Games’ new engine whose technical demos have been around the world for a good 2 years now. The publisher announces that all the major productions in progress will naturally switch to Unreal Engine 5, which should allow titles to benefit from the best tools so that rendering is as next gen as possible. It is besides that Lords of the Fallen 2 will be released only on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. Good news.
