The two-day summit of the G20 countries begins today in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Many of the world’s most important leaders will arrive in Rio, including the President of the United States Joe Biden and the President of China Xi Jinping. President of Russia Vladimir Putin will not be seen at the summit because of an International Criminal Court warrant for his arrest.
Brazil is hosting the G20 summit for the first time. President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has chosen the fight against hunger as one of the top themes of the summit.
