Fans have been waiting for this for months, well the future of the DC Universe is set under new heads James Gunn and Peter Safran. There is a start date for a new Superman film without Henry Cavill and information about other series and film projects. These include a new Batman feature film independent of Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight, a Wonder Woman series of sorts, and a horror film starring Swamp Thing.

Gunn and Safran have titled the first phase of their new DC saga: Chapter 1: God and Monsters.

The god means Superman, whose rebirth in the cinema is supposed to be at the beginning of the story. The other projects sound like some extremely dark ideas, as you might be used to from The Suicide Squad director James Gunn. So we can brace ourselves for a reunion with the Green Lanterns space police, albeit in the guise of a True Detective takedown. And even the new Supergirl will be called “hardcore” described.
