The furious finale of one of the most brilliant action series of our time

The furious finale of one of the most brilliant action

Lines that rely primarily on their action are more likely to have one Escalation problem. How far can you take fights, spectacular stunts and choreography to the extreme? At what point do you run out of ideas for something new? As a result, some film series starve to death on the outstretched arm. But not all.

The makers of John Wick, for example, managed to increase the height of the case over an entire trilogy. They were always able to conjure up new sets and stars for crazy fight scenes. Then came John Wick: Chapter 4 – and managed to end the series with one almost three-hour action crescendo to crown. This is now available as a streaming subscription on Amazon Prime.

In John Wick 4, Keanu Reeves fights his way across the globe towards a grand finale

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is a wanted man. Perhaps the most wanted man on the planet. The High Chamber wants him dead. After licking his wounds and training himself back to fitness, he sets off on one final mission on. But this is much more difficult than anything he had to go through before.

Meanwhile, whole hordes of assassins are after him. And as much as he wants to count on his old allies, he soon discovers that they too are now willing to betray him. Particularly well-known fighters such as the blind but absolutely deadly Caine (Donnie Yen) are after him.

No matter where John goes, be it Japan, Germany or France, he is never safe. It soon becomes clear: If John wants to be free, he has to face perhaps his most powerful opponent to date. But he has more than just one Ace up your sleeve.

John Wick 4 makes the impossible possible and far surpasses all three previous films

As impossible as it seems after the museum stabbings and horse murders in John Wick: Chapter 3: John Wick: Chapter 4 really goes one better. No, not just one. Rather, the furious (and preliminary) finale of the series simply shifts up two gears and unleashes the Turbo drive. And it carries itself with absolute ease over almost three epic hours of running time that fly by.

As always, nothing is left to chance. Chad Stahelski and his fleet of talented stunt people and fight choreographers unleash their incredible cast on each other in a perfectly timed and filmed ballet. Light-footed, buttery-soft, leaden and bloody. John Wick never looked so good.

Each set and setting brings new legendary opponents, places new demands on our protagonist and demands more from him. Be it the pure madness of the Berlin club scene, a trip to the Continental Hotel in Osaka or the highest point in Paris – they all do it creativity to the top when it comes to fighting. And for gaming fans there is an extra treat on top.

So if you need a saturated dose of barrage and fists, John Wick is – once again – your man. You can watch the brilliant fourth part of the action series starting today with a streaming subscription on Amazon Prime experience.
