Charlotte Baris: It is the evening of July 7 and the scenario that some fear is coming true. The National Rally comes first in nearly 300 legislative constituencies, Emmanuel Macron is forced to appoint Jordan Bardella Prime Minister. At 28, he – already – beats the record of his predecessor, Gabriel Attal, and became the youngest head of government of the Fifth Republic.
In the days that follow, Jordan Bardella prepares his general policy speech, which he must deliver before a new National Assembly where his party is now in the majority.
L’Express journalists have been preparing for this disaster scenario since the announcement of the dissolution on the evening of June 9.
