The French fell violently and was taken off the slope

No fewer than 20 athletes competed in the men’s giant slalom in Adelboden. Victor Muffat-Jeandet had the worst.

In the Alpine Skiing World Cup, the men’s giant slalom in Adelboden saw a sad situation, when France Victor Muffat-Jeandet crashed in the second round.

After the injury, Muffat-Jeandet was shown sitting on a slope in TV pictures. He was taken off the slope on a stretcher. French newspaper L’Equipe says (you switch to another service), that Muffat-Jeandet received numerous wounds on his hand. He also suffered bruises on his face. There is no more detailed information about the severity of the injuries.

Switzerland won the competition in front of their home crowd Marco Odermatt. No fewer than 20 athletes were eliminated in the competition during two rounds.

Samu Torsti reached the World Cup points for the first time this season when he was 24th in Adelboden. The last time Torsti was in the World Cup points was last March in the giant slalom in Kransjka Gora.

The women’s side will compete this weekend in Kransjka Gora. Mikaela Shiffrin set out to become the woman with the most victories in the Alpine Skiing World Cup of all time. Shiffrin has 81 wins at No. 1 With Lindsey Vonn has 82 wins.

However, Shiffrin was left tied for sixth place. The competition was unexpectedly won by Canada Valerie Grenier. The last time a Canadian woman won the giant slalom at the World Cup was 49 years ago.

There were no Finns in the competition. In the lower category in the European Cup Elian Lehto continued his good performances. Like yesterday, he was third in the super giant slalom. Already with his ranking yesterday, 22-year-old Lehto got a place in the super giant slalom of the World Cup.

Before Christmas, Lehto made a splash in the Val Gardena World Cup diving competition when he was 20. The last time the Finn had achieved a harder performance in the plunge was in 2016.
