The French women’s table tennis team was beaten 3-0 by China, arch-favorite of the competition, in the semi-finals of the World Team Championships, Friday February 23 in Busan in South Korea, and won the bronze medal. Prithika Pavade and Charlotte Lutz were beaten 3 sets to 0, respectively by Sun Yingsha (11-5, 11-8, 14-12) and Wang Yidi (11-5, 16-14, 11-2). Only Yuan Jia Nan managed to take a set, the second, from Chen Meng, but lost 3 sets to 1 (11-6, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4). The French women, who had achieved the performance of taking out Germany, the third nation in the world, with a score of 3-2 in the quarter-finals, will console themselves with a bronze medal, the first in 33 years and the World Championships in Chiba in 1991 .
