The FRA woman is forced to leave her job

On October 17, a top Swedish military officer and his FRA employee wife were arrested in a Säpo-led operation. The couple were detained on suspicion of gross unauthorized occupation with secret information but were released from custody just over two weeks ago. However, they are still suspected of crimes. Now Expressen reports that the woman’s security classification has been revoked and that she is being stopped from working at the Defense Radio Institute. – The prerequisite for being able to work at FRA is that you can be placed in a security-classified position. If you are not, you cannot work at FRA, press manager Ola Billger confirms to the newspaper. Expressen has also obtained documents that show that the FRA’s security department acted as soon as the woman was released from Kronoberg prison, on December 13. Full pay In an agreement between FRA and the woman, she has been released from work with full pay. The crimes for which the couple is suspected, according to the prosecutors, have been going on since last summer. The detained man is a former high-ranking officer with a solid resume and a long career in the Armed Forces. He has worked in both Sweden and abroad, where he has had several central roles. He still retains his employment at the Defense Academy but has not worked since his arrest in October. For decades, the woman has been employed at FRA, whose operations are top secret and subject to strict secrecy. The authority works, among other things, with signal intelligence. The woman has also studied Russian for several years at university level.
