Kodie Curran is, to say the least, a familiar face to the SHL audience. For two seasons, he was perhaps Rögle’s best player, and he completely poured in points from his back position, and was also named the league’s best full back.
Rumored to SHL
It was therefore not particularly surprising that there was a move outside Sweden, when he took the step over to North America. But there was never any success on the other side of the Atlantic, and in the two years since he left Sweden, there have been zero NHL matches.
Kodie Curran has in recent months been rumored to return to the SHL, and for a long time it looked like it would be Färjestad. There was early information that it would not be Rögle, but he was rumored to be close to the new Swedish champions FBK, but there it seems that the negotiations have stalled, and Curran is still out on the market. And there are more SHL clubs dreaming of a signature.

Färjestad has been clear that they are looking for a top defender with clear offensive qualities, and on paper, Curran would fit like a glove. He is admittedly expensive, but Frölunda is one of the clubs that could afford the Canadian, and now there are signs that the interest may be mutual.
According to Frölunda supporters on Twitter, Curran has started following Frölunda on Instagram, which is a timing that clearly can not be interpreted in any other way than that there is interest. Since then, more and more supporters have begun to hope that the signing will be off – and it is easy to understand when it comes to a player who just three years ago scored 49 points in 48 games in the SHL, as a fullback.
