30 people have died according to what is described as the largest forest fire ever in South Korea.
Now a 56-year-old man is suspected of causing the fire-by mistake.

The extinguishing work is still ongoing in parts of South Korea after what the authorities call for the worst forest fire of the times.
The fires started last Saturday last weekend and are estimated to have destroyed about 4,000 buildings and killed 30 people, according to the BBC.

Among the dead are a pilot who crashed by helicopter during the extinguishing work, Reuters reports.
The fire has also affected several historic buildings. Among other things, 1,300 years old Buddhist temple has been destroyed.
Now a 56-year-old man is suspected of starting the fire.

According to The Guardian, the man’s daughter has explained to the police that the man had visited his grandmother and grandfather’s burial ground.
There he should have tried to fire up a couple of tree branches that hung above the tombstone with a cigarette lighter.
The result was disastrous.

The man who is suspected to have caused the fire should now be called for questioning.

Today, the extinguishing work is still underway in parts of the country, and over 27,000 people have had to flee their homes.
A total of 48,000 hectares of land have burned up.
The suspected man should now be called for questioning. However, according to information to the AFP news agency, it may take a whole month, when the now burnt burial ground must first be investigated.
